We mexicans celebrate our family and friends who are dead with a special ritual. In any corner within Mexico families gathered around cemeteries, churches and sacred places to bring food, music and ancient traditions\u00a0in honor of those who have departed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In their attempts to convert them to Catholicism, the Spaniards tried to kill the ritual.\u00a0But like the old Aztec spirits, the ritual refused to die.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">To make the ritual more Christian, the Spaniards moved it so it coincided with All Saints&#8217; Day and All Souls&#8217; Day (Nov. 1 and 2), which is when it is celebrated today.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1370\" style=\"width: 730px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1370\" class=\"wp-image-1370 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/mx.teterete.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/73591_10150298845520515_7370727_n.jpg\" alt=\"Day of the Dead\" width=\"720\" height=\"540\" srcset=\"https:\/\/teterete.com\/mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/73591_10150298845520515_7370727_n.jpg 720w, https:\/\/teterete.com\/mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/73591_10150298845520515_7370727_n-600x450.jpg 600w, https:\/\/teterete.com\/mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/73591_10150298845520515_7370727_n-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/teterete.com\/mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/10\/73591_10150298845520515_7370727_n-624x468.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 720px) 100vw, 720px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1370\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Day of the Dead<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main celebration takes place in cemeteries, the families make altars and place ofrendas (offerings) of food such as pan de muerto baked in shapes of skulls and<a href=\"https:\/\/teterete.com\/mx\/categoria-producto\/regalos1\/piezas-unicas\/\"> figures<\/a>, candles, incense, yellow marigolds known as cempazuchitl (also spelled zempasuchil) and most importantly a photo of the departed soul is placed on the altar.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">November 1st and November 2do is when dead relatives, both young and old, are allowed to return to the mortal world for two days to visit loved ones. All these myistical decorations have influenced all over the world with great ideas shown in many different places.
